about the author

Monika Höge has two grown daughters and lives with her husband, south of Munich, Germany.

She did her PhD in computational linguistics, and works as a software consultant and account director. In her work she is confronted with the challenges and dangers of digital transformation on a daily basis, which inspired her to write this story.

During the rest of her time, she likes to be active and creative. She loves to hike, read and write. She has written four romance novels in German and one in English. She likes stories about women, their relationships, worries and experiences. What she also likes in a story is a happy or at least a hopeful open end.

about the book

A relatable and thought-provoking geo-political tale that revolves around today’s major challenges but is set sixty years in the future.

When Rosie Walker, the twenty-four-year-old owner of a video games company finds herself on the wrong side of the law for the first time, the only way to turn is towards her family. It comes as a shock that her grandmother is one of the leading figures in an underground network of retired Gen Z climate activists called ‘The Force’ whose goal is to overthrow the oppressive government.

With Rosie as a new recruit, the Force hopes to finally get hold of the younger tech generation needed to succeed. A carefully designed plan is put into motion but Rosie soon realizes that what shes signed up for will affect her personally in a bigger way than she had bargained for.

Can they stop the brainwashing machinery in time for the next elections? And at what cost?
